Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (APHP)

The Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program is an outpatient service for 12-18 year olds having behavioral or emotional difficulties. The APHP has been offering a safe environment for assessment and treatment of mental health issues since 1990.

We provide assessment, crisis stabilization and treatment for individuals with a psychiatric diagnosis, emotional difficulties or maladaptive behaviors. Treatment includes a psychiatric evaluation by a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist; medication management; individual, group and family therapy; occupational therapy; nursing management; and academics.

Partial hospitalization may be utilized to prevent an inpatient admission or as a step-down from inpatient or residential treatment. Access to inpatient psychiatric unit is available if necessary. The adolescent remains at home and in the community while participating in daily treatment. Certified teachers provide for academics in conjunction with the adolescent's school. Parent/guardian and adolescent check-in begins at 7:45 A.M. and check out is at 3 P.M., Monday through Friday (during the summer the program operates from 7:45 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.).

The treatment team includes a child and adolescent psychiatrist, licensed clinical social workers (LCSW), teachers, nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacist and registered dietician. The team provides comprehensive assessment and treatment. Discharge planning includes case management to match the needs of the individual and family with community agencies and providers.

As part of St. Patrick Hospital, the program is able to accept most private insurance plans, as well as Medicaid and CHIP.
